About
Welcome to Cotoletta, a culinary gem nestled in Rochester, NY. The inviting atmosphere and vibrant energy of this eatery make it an ideal spot for food lovers and casual diners alike. Located at 440 Elmridge Center Dr, patrons are greeted by a large, eye-catching sign that promises a delightful experience. The charm of Cotoletta lies not only in its décor but also in its dedication to quality and flavor.
The menu at Cotoletta reads like a love letter to Italian American cuisine, featuring tantalizing starters like the Greens & Beans and Fried Mozzarella paired with spicy Pomodoro and basil pesto. Each appetizer is thoughtfully crafted, setting the stage for the masterpiece dishes that follow. I was particularly drawn to the House Meatballs, served with a blend of VBP, pancetta, and marinara—simple yet bold in flavor.
When it comes to the star of the show, the square pies are a must-try. Take, for instance, the Big Galooga Red, lavishly topped with soppressata, pepperoni, and smoked gouda, or the Bee Sting Red, a unique combination of cupnchar and house chile honey that brings just the right amount of heat. The pizzas are made with care, showcasing a crust that strikes the perfect balance between crispy and chewy.
Let’s dive deeper into the sandwiches, or as they say, sangwiches. The Nash Vegas Nashville Hot Cutlet is a crowd favorite, with its fiery yet savory appeal. Alongside, the Eh! Paisano! delivers a beautiful medley of rapini, sharp provolone, and roasted peppers, effectively pairing rich textures with delightful flavors. Each bite is a moment of joy that makes you want to come back for more.
The environment at Cotoletta is equally impressive. The friendly staff, consistently praised by diners, adds to the inviting aura of the place. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warmth and a desire to help—a quality that elevates your dining experience. Whether you're seated at the bar or a table, the vibrant interactions and attentive service make you feel right at home.
Cotoletta represents more than just food; it’s an experience filled with flavor and community spirit. Each dish celebrates quality ingredients and passionate preparation, making it a standout destination in Rochester. So whether you're in for a casual lunch or a lively dinner with friends, Cotoletta is the place to be. I can't wait to return, perhaps to finally savor the elusive Johnny Boy Cutlet that had everyone raving, with a promise to check availability first!
“ Lunch Time! My wife's coworker suggested we check this place out, so off we go! The location is in a plaza and there is a very large sign both at the entrance of the plaza and on the location itself. When you walk in you see a bar area you can sit at and the menu board is on the wall behind it. Here you order at the register by the door at the bar and they give you a number for your table and they bring out your food when it is ready. I suggest looking online at the different menu items because the bar board doesn't explain them. They have menus at the location with the descriptions, but I like getting an idea what I want to eat before I get to a place. The staff at this location are great. They appear happy and are willing to help with anything you need. I ordered the Johnny Boy only to be told that is the only thing on the menu they were out of. You see it has a slow cooked beef on it that takes a long time, and they only make it a few times a week. I was told they would have it tomorrow but I'm here today! I'm kidding, I understand. I then ordered the full size Jerry Callo which is basically a chicken and egg plant cutlet with peppers cheese and capicola and prosciutto. My wife chose the 1/2 sandwich and side special. She got the Italian PTL - which is a grilled chicken breast, prosciutto, and a avocado aioli with fries (the other options are 1/2 salad or soup). We took our seat and waited for our food. The sandwiches are a good size. I didn't need a full. It was very filling. I wish I got the half and just ate a few of my wives fries instead of being bursting full like I am as I type this. I liked it. The chicken cutlet and eggplant were fried perfectly and the rest of the ingredients worked well. My wife enjoyed her sandwich and commented on how the chicken was cooked perfectly. The fries were a very generous portion that would easily be shareable. I would come back again and I will for the Johnny Boy. I will call first to make sure they have it, and I'd likely only get the half. I don't enjoy being too full! ”
“ We went for lunch and it was great. I had the Alphonse with a Caesar Salad. The sandwich was amazing. My only complaint would be that the bread was cold but it almost didn't matter because the sandwich was really good. ”
“ My wife and I ate here for the first time last week. Food was awesome! I had the Eh! Paisano! sandwich and Garlic Parm Fries (the big bowl in the pic is actually a small) and my wife had the chicken wings...and I had some good Nero d'Avola win (one of my favorites, which most places don't have)...and we shared a Blueberry Bibb salad (sorry, no pic). The food was delicious, very flavorful. The portions were big. All the staff were very nice and attentive. Food prep was FAST. We will be back and make this a regular stop. I highly recommend. ”
“ Once again, Jay knocks it out of the park with his second restaurant (first being Tony D's). Ordered greens and beans and the Paisano sandwich To-go, absolutely fantastic. Service was wonderful and friendly and the atmosphere, although we were only in briefly, is fantastic. This business alone should reinvigorate which was once an empty shopping plaza. Can't wait to return and support a great local business and hospitable owner ”
“ What a fun place this is! The food is phenomenal. The atmosphere is inviting. The bartender is especially great and all our servers were extremely kind and accommodating. The owner was there tonight and he is also a huge asset to this establishment. He was very kind! Great experience. ”
“ Where to start! Great service, great employees and great food! Our 4 year old likes "cold chicken wings" and after explaining just plain chicken wings is what he means lol she went out of her way to make sure they pulled them out quicker and no sauce at all!!! The food was outstanding and reasonably priced! ”
“ Had a company gathering here last week and the food was incredibly good! Got the Fried Ravioli and split the "Eh, Paisano!" sangwich with a colleague and it was a large enough portion to share for both. Atmosphere was great ... had some live music outside on the plaza with adirondack chairs to post-up on, good vibes all around! ”
“ First time checking this restaurant out tonight with 3 other adults and 2 toddlers. Great atmosphere for families. Loved the style of ordering at the counter then going to sit and having our food brought to us. Management came over to see how our food was, everyone was helpful and friendly. Drinks were great, food was AWESOME! Delicious bread... Sandwiches were next level! ”
